Wowzers. This brings new meaning to, “Proud as a peacock”. I would be too, with a spread this big.
I love peacocks. Who doesn’t? Lucky for me, and countless others, when you visit Sun Moon Lake you can also go and visit the Peacock Gardens. Better yet, you can do it free of charge! There are over 200 peacocks and other precious birds in this peacock zoo, which also houses a butterfly exhibit. Chiang Kai-Shek ordered this mini-zoo built in 1968 to help make the area more beautiful for tourists. I enjoyed every minute of our time here and gleefully chased the peacocks around until, finally, one of them decided to put on a show for us.

Albino peacocks! Who knew?

Some guys have all the luck. Only male peacocks have full plumage.

Havin’ a snooze. Ahhh, such a simple life.

Whoa Nelly. Freakin’ peacocks everywhere.

nature has a curious sense of humour to engineer such creatures. Fascinating!
The albino one’s been getting a lot of attention (and deservedly so!)
ah, for the life of a globetrotter.
